Tonight we went out to eat with your entire OKC family. You and your cousins are all so good. Other diners in the restaurant told BB how impressed, and relieved, they were with how well behaved you all are. Well duh. Right? When we got home you talked and squealed to me and Dada for almost half an hour. You are such a happy baby.

Aunt Tanya and the girls drove thru Oklahoma City on their way to Texas today. You and Dad took them to eat at Mr. Pho and shopping at Super Cao Nguyen. Kaitlyn read Five Little Monkeys to you and Morgan. You love your cousins and aunt! So far you have gotten to see them twice since you were born. That's pretty good since they live far away in Illinois. They will be back to visit next week with your Mimi Bev & Papa Ken.

Kate spent the night with us last night. Her birthday is on Tuesday so she got to spend the night all by herself. We were going to order pizza for dinner but then Uncle Bryan called and they wanted to get out of the house so they all came over and brought us Wendy's. You and Addie ate and slept, Bryan taught your Dad a few things on the guitar, while Kate played with Aidan.
Today we loused around most of the day then went to the book store before taking Kate home. I can't believe she is going to be 11 on Tuesday. I remember when she was a tiny baby like you! She was a wonderful baby too. Kate will be old enough to babysit you all by herself soon, she already takes very good care of you. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our Kate!
Love,
Mama

We had a great weekend. Papa John and Mimi Rita came for a visit, we celebrated Baby Eden's upcoming arrival with lots of friends, and Dad and I went for an afternoon movie date.
Papa took you out and put your feet on the grass. I realized this was the first time you had even touched grass so I had to take a picture.
You are 4 months old today!

Your BB's best friend, since the second grade, Mary, came for a visit this week. I changed the days I worked so that we could spend time with Mary too. We met Mary, BB & Papaw at Ray's Cafe for breakfast then you spent the afternoon with Papaw while us ladies went shopping. Boys don't like shopping. Papaw said you were really good, you took 2 naps, had 2 bots, and carried on a long conversation with him.
Your BB and Mary look so much alike that they could be sisters. When Mary gets to telling her stories they both start laughing so hard that I'm always worried that they'll wet their pants. I hope you have at least one lifetime friend, they are gifts.
All the love,
Mama
p.s. You look scared in this picture but you weren't, it's the flash that does that.

Today is Papaw's birthday so we made him this picture card and put it on Facebook. Papaw thought it was pretty darn cool. We talked about going to dinner with him but I'm not feeling to good today, I hope that it passes soon, I've got baby luvins to give. I thought the "H is for..." sounded fun since Papaw flew helicopters for over 25 years. I'm sure he'll tell ya all about it. I also should have put on that card that "H is for Hella Hot!" It is still unbelievably hot out. Your first summer has been the hottest it has been in Oklahoma in 30 years, I pray that this winter isn't the coldest.

My sweet boy,
When I walked downstairs this morning you saw me and smiled real big and squealed. Once again, I'm pretty sure my heart melted. You've been extra cuddly lately. When you're tired you like it when I hold you real close and you bury your head just under my neck. I wouldn't mind spending all day like this but you're getting so big, my arms get tired.
All the love,
Mama

Patti let us borrow her baby swing that she had at her house for her granddaughter, Avery. I hadn't gotten you one because not all babies like them and they take up quite a bit of space. I figured since we were just borrowing it, if it turned out you didn't like it, oh well. Well, you love it! You are totally relaxed laying in it. I turn the swing on low and you just look around and coo. Dang you look super cute in your jamies.

Jack,We usually get to spend Sunday mornings together as a family. This morning you played with Dada, you stood up, sat down, got lots of smooches, and squealed with laughter. Recently you have been pulling up all by yourself. You have also found your vocal cords! I love listening to you, I know you're trying to tell me something. Dad says he likes what you're trying to say but doesn't like your tone. Ha! You talk (scream) pretty loud Chubba Bubba. Maybe we'll get Dad some ear plugs.

Baby Jack,Your cousin Laura spent the night with us last night. She loves you so much, they all do. It was Laura's turn to spend the night by herself, she didn't get her chance before you were born so she has been waiting over 3 months.
We all went to the Kluges for brats and watched a little play in German that Theresa had taught her students at a day camp she had created. Maybe some day you can go. Your last name is German ya know.
When we got home you pretty much down for the count. You and I went to bed but Dad and Laura stayed up watching movies. Laura had never seen the movie Big! I promise to show it to you some day. When Laura finally woke up she fed you you second bott of the day, the rest of us ate lunch. Then while you took a nap I drove Laura home. We had a nice sleepover with your cousin.

Jack,
We went to see your GG last night. We watched President Obama on television and she held you and fed you your bottle. I don't think she really knows who you are, I don't even think she knows who I am, but seeing you makes her so happy. We moved GG into an assisted living center July 4th because her dementia has gotten really bad and it was making life hard for BB and Papaw. She asks us where her mama is all the time and tells us she is moving back to the farm with her tomorrow, but there hasn't been a farm in over 70 years. She tells lots of stories, some true, some not true, but all are pretty enjoyable to listen to. GG is 94 years old!
Your GG is a very special lady, I can't wait to tell you all about her.
All the love,
Mama
update: Aunt Jamie said GG asked if her if she had met "our Baby Jack" yet. She does remember you when we aren't there.

Today, I heard you grunting while you were sitting in your bouncy seat, I assumed you were making a double deuce. When I looked over I realized you were just trying to sit up, so I got out your Bebe Pod, that Team Bounds gave you. We tried it a couple of weeks before but you weren't ready. Today, you were ready! You immediately started smiling and laughing. You love sitting up straight and looking around but you haven't really figured out your toy yet. As with anything you enjoy at this age, you were done with it after about 10 minutes.

Baby Jack,
Your Papa John and Mimi Rita came to see you this past weekend. They got you a Johnny Jump-Up. So far you like it. Not only is fun and good exercise for your growing muscles, but it's also supposed to help you learn cause and effect. I can't wait until you figure it out. Right now you just twist in it and look around. Harper and Daphne like it too, they get to sneak in licks.
Mama
To our sweet bag of sugar,You're a baby, it's okay for me to call you that right now. Don't be embarrassed.
Dad took you to the doctor today for your wellness visit. It's Thursday, so I was at work. You were supposed to go at 2 months old, but I think it's just a general schedule so it's okay. While you were there you got your first booster shots. Boo. Dad said you cried but then he put a bott in in your mouth and all was right with the world again.
We thought that the shots would make you feel bad but after one dose of Tylenol you were fine, you just slept. You are such a good baby.
Love,
Mama
