Jack,

We usually get to spend Sunday mornings together as a family. This morning you played with Dada, you stood up, sat down, got lots of smooches, and squealed with laughter. Recently you have been pulling up all by yourself. You have also found your vocal cords! I love listening to you, I know you're trying to tell me something. Dad says he likes what you're trying to say but doesn't like your tone. Ha! You talk (scream) pretty loud Chubba Bubba. Maybe we'll get Dad some ear plugs.

You have been trying so hard to hold your bottle by yourself. You can only keep it up for few seconds but hey, ya gotta start somewhere.
You love love love your bebe pod! You have figured out how to reach the toy and put it in your mouth. I love your concentrations face, your dad has one too.

Baby Jack,

Your cousin Laura spent the night with us last night. She loves you so much, they all do. It was Laura's turn to spend the night by herself, she didn't get her chance before you were born so she has been waiting over 3 months.

We all went to the Kluges for brats and watched a little play in German that Theresa had taught her students at a day camp she had created. Maybe some day you can go. Your last name is German ya know.

When we got home you pretty much down for the count. You and I went to bed but Dad and Laura stayed up watching movies. Laura had never seen the movie Big! I promise to show it to you some day. When Laura finally woke up she fed you you second bott of the day, the rest of us ate lunch. Then while you took a nap I drove Laura home. We had a nice sleepover with your cousin.

We went with Papaw and BB to sign some documents today. You have grown out of your "suit" but I thought you should still wear a tie to the lawyers office. This shirt came in the mail this week from Aunt Mimi. I'll have to send her this picture. You were such good boy.

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago.
I've lost my camera battery.

Jack,

We went to see your GG last night. We watched President Obama on television and she held you and fed you your bottle. I don't think she really knows who you are, I don't even think she knows who I am, but seeing you makes her so happy. We moved GG into an assisted living center July 4th because her dementia has gotten really bad and it was making life hard for BB and Papaw. She asks us where her mama is all the time and tells us she is moving back to the farm with her tomorrow, but there hasn't been a farm in over 70 years. She tells lots of stories, some true, some not true, but all are pretty enjoyable to listen to. GG is 94 years old!

Your GG is a very special lady, I can't wait to tell you all about her.

All the love,
Mama

update: Aunt Jamie said GG asked if her if she had met "our Baby Jack" yet. She does remember you when we aren't there.

Today, I heard you grunting while you were sitting in your bouncy seat, I assumed you were making a double deuce. When I looked over I realized you were just trying to sit up, so I got out your Bebe Pod, that Team Bounds gave you. We tried it a couple of weeks before but you weren't ready. Today, you were ready! You immediately started smiling and laughing. You love sitting up straight and looking around but you haven't really figured out your toy yet. As with anything you enjoy at this age, you were done with it after about 10 minutes.

Baby Jack,

We spent all day at home today, just me and you. It's terribly hot out, over 100 for over 30 days now, sometime reaching 110. What a dreadful summer. Dad drove to Texas this morning to help out a friend. I hope you grow up to be a good friend.

taken last month

Today our BFF's (that means Best Friends Forever) came over. We haven't seen them in almost a month. That's messed up, I promise it won't happen again. We usually see them at least once a week.

Micah told you that you are a "bad baby". That's okay, Jenn didn't like me at first either.

Baby Jack,
Your Papa John and Mimi Rita came to see you this past weekend. They got you a Johnny Jump-Up. So far you like it. Not only is fun and good exercise for your growing muscles, but it's also supposed to help you learn cause and effect. I can't wait until you figure it out. Right now you just twist in it and look around. Harper and Daphne like it too, they get to sneak in licks.
Mama

Jack,

You farted in your bathtub tonight. It was awesome.

This picture was from last week. Bath time is now your favorite part of the day. It hasn't always been. I started making the water warmer. My bad, little dude. Now you laugh, and squeal, and kick kick kick.

Mama
To our sweet bag of sugar,

You're a baby, it's okay for me to call you that right now. Don't be embarrassed.

Dad took you to the doctor today for your wellness visit. It's Thursday, so I was at work. You were supposed to go at 2 months old, but I think it's just a general schedule so it's okay. While you were there you got your first booster shots. Boo. Dad said you cried but then he put a bott in in your mouth and all was right with the world again.

We thought that the shots would make you feel bad but after one dose of Tylenol you were fine, you just slept. You are such a good baby.

Love,
Mama
